Maximum performance is provided automatically – EqualLogic arrays continuously self-optimize
as data changes and storage is expanded. EqualLogic volumes are provisioned as a
single, scalable pool of storage that leverages all storage resources within the
SAN. Adding additional PS Series arrays scales out performance linearly to support
increasingly number of messaging users in an easy to manage and affordable way.

As messaging data grows, EqualLogic's volumes grow online. In addition to instant

with EqualLogic's online load balancing. With EqualLogic advanced thin provisioning,
e-mail volumes can be preset to a specific size at volume creation. Physical storage
is then automatically allocated from the free storage pool as the e-mail store grows
in size. The benefits are simpler management of e-mail volumes, more efficient use
of physical storage resources, and the realization of seamless "buy as you grow"
storage purchasing.
E-mail backup and recovery
With EqualLogic"s built-in snapshot capabilities, clean snapshots of mail stores
and logs can be taken instantly and automatically. Any size environment, as well
as multi-server deployments, can be instantly reset to a previous snapshot to resume
your messaging application from a clean starting point; users don"t wait for data
to be physically moved or copied. Snapshots can also be mounted as recovery storage
groups for easy mailbox and message recovery. EqualLogic"s built in auto-replication
capability enables internally consistent remote copies of messaging data and SAN
boot disks. EqualLogic is fully certified and compatible with leading backup and
disaster recovery solutions including applications from Asigra, CommVault Systems,
Computer Associates, EMC/Legato, FilesX, Microsoft (including DPM), Mimosa, Spectra
Logic, Sonasoft, Symantec, and TimeSpring.
